The District Attorney for the National District, Alejandro Moscoso Segarra has delivered US$4.6 million in cash that was seized from a Mercedes-Benz SUV allegedly belonging to Sobeida Felix Morel. The money itself belonged to Jose David Figueroa Agosto, the drug kingpin fugitive from Puerto Rico. The money was divided up according to the stipulations of Law 72-02, and yesterday, Moscoso Segarra handed over US$3,468,712 to Mabel Feliz Baez, the head of the National Drug Council. Of this money, 25%will be distributed to the National Drug Control Department (DNCD), 10% to the National Police, 25% to the National Drug Council, and NGOs that work in drug rehabilitation, including Casa Abierta and Hogares Crea, will get 15%. Moscoso Segarra also delivered US$1,156,027.50 to the Attorney General, which is the remaining 25% of the money. He told reporters from El Nuevo Diario that the remaining properties were being appraised and would be sold at public auction. They include apartments, furnishings, expensive watches and vehicles.
