In another classic battle, the Tigres del Licey got payback and defeated the Aguilas Cibaenas, 5-4 in an exciting game played in Santo Domingo's Estadio Quisqueya. The Tigres got good hitting from Willy Mo Pena who hit his 24th lifetime homerun and a double. Over in La Romana, the Toros del Este shut out the Leones del Escogido, 4-0. Fernando Abad pitched five shutout innings and kept their position atop the standings. In San Francisco de Macoris, the Estrellas Orientales cut their losing streak at three games and won a 10-5 victory over the Gigantes del Cibao.
