Hundreds march against violence against women

Hundreds of people took part in a march yesterday organized by the Attorney General of the Republic and the Ministry of Women under the slogan: "Zero Tolerance against Violence against Women." The event started at Km 0 of the Mirador Sur Park and ended with a show by local artists in the area of the monument in the area of La Feria ("La bolita del Mundo"). The organizers called on citizens to join together in educational programs, and to mobilize in order to eradicate physical, verbal, and psychological aggressions against women. First Lady Margarita Cedeno de Fernandez led the march, accompanied by Minister for Women Alejandrina German, Attorney General Radhames Jimenez Pena, Police Chief Jose Armando Polanco Gomez, and the secretary general of the Dominican Municipal League (LMD) Fidias Aristy, and others.
