The Dominican Republic will take on the pro-tempore presidency of the Rio Group next month, and President Leonel Fernandez will travel to the handover ceremony in Guyana on 3 March. President Fernandez has also scheduled trips to India and the Middle East for after the PLD presidential primary. The Rio Group is made of 19 Latin American countries and is a high level forum for regional issues.
