View Full Version : Fernandez goes to Colombia today

President Leonel Fernandez leaves the country this morning bound for Colombia as part of an official tour that also includes visits to Venezuela and Mexico. In Colombia, the President will take part in the Latin America and Caribbean Summit on Integration and Development and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States. In Mexico, Fernandez will attend the II Summit of the Pacific Alliance and the XII Summit of the Tuxtla Mechanism for Dialogue and Compromise.

The President will leave on an 11:30am private flight from the Las Americas International Airport to Colombia, where he will be awarded the Order of the Founder for Political Merit at the University College of Our Lady of the Rosary. On Friday, 2 December, he will travel to Venezuela where he is due to be received by his counterpart, Hugo Chavez and other dignitaries. Then he will go on to Mexico, where on 5 December he will hold meetings with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who will receive Fernandez with military honors. There will also be a private meeting between the two and a joint press conference.
