On Friday night, Eternal Rivals the Tigres del Licey and the Leones del Escogido met once again in the venerable Estadio Quisqueya. This time the Tigres came out ahead with a 5-0 shutout of the Leones. The loss sends the Escogido team into fifth place in the standings. After a 7-1 start to the season, the Leones have won just five more games while losing 17. They fired their manager Tony DeFrancesco, and interim manager Junior Noboa went 0-4. Now they are expecting Ken Oberkfell to right the Reds.

In San Pedro de Macoris, the Estrellas Orientales beat up on the Toros del Este, 11-1, to come away with a needed victory. The Estrellas used six pitchers to quiet the Toro's bats and climb into the all-important fourth place. The Estrellas got four hits (4-4) from Felix Pie, including a homerun, and together with Junior Lake and Donell Linares dominated the Toro pitchers. In San Francisco de Macoris, the Gigantes del Cibao, slowed the march of the Aguilas Cibaenas towards the playoffs, with a tight, 5-4, win. Homeruns from Luke Montz and Yeral Sanchez in the eighth inning broke open a tight 2-1 game. The Aguilas came back with three runs in the ninth but fell short.

On Saturday, the Lopez, Peguero and Almonte trio took the Gigantes del Cibao past the Tigres del Licey, 6-2, in a game played in the Quisqueya Stadium in Santo Domingo. Lopez pitched five very solid innings and Almonte and Peguero each had two runs batted in for the Gigantes. In San Pedro de Macoris, the Estrellas firmed up their grip on fourth place as they handed the Leones del Escogido yet another defeat, 3-2, with Jake Fox getting the deciding hit. After using six pitchers the night before, the Estrellas used ten pitchers to hold back the Leones' attack. In Santiago de los Caballeros, once again Joaquin Arias and his three hits contributed to the Aguilas' victory over the Toros. He was well assisted with a homerun by Audy Ciriaco, as the Aguilas took a 6-2 victory and sole possession of first place in the standings.

On Sunday, the Tigres del Licey captured the City Championship by handing the Leones del Escogido their eighth loss in a row with a score of 5-2. Although Pablo Ozuna had four hits in the game, he was struck out with the bases loaded in the ninth inning by Victor Marte to seal the Tigres' dramatic victory. It was only in the seventh inning that the Tigres were able to come from a 1-2 deficit and take a 2 run lead thanks to a key hit by Juan Francisco. Both teams got 10 hits.

In the Francisco Micheli Stadium in La Romana, the Toros del Este defeated the Estrellas Orientales by a score of 5-2. Diory Hernandez and Alberto Rosario each drove in a run as the Toros climbed into a first place tie with the Aguilas Cibaenas who lost to the charging Gigantes del Cibao 9-5. In the game played in Santiago's Estadio Cibao, Luke Montz hit a homerun with a man on base, Carlos Peguera and Moises Sierra each drove in two runs and the Gigantes took an early 5-1 lead that was never surpassed by the Aguilas, who did get a spectacular homerun from Brian Bogusevic, his fourth of the season.
