Las Americas International Airport is preparing to receive some 276,000 passengers over the holiday season. This is the estimate for arrivals for the month of December, while dozens of passengers have already begun to complain about the Customs facilities, claiming that Customs Department personnel are not following the Presidential Directives. According to Aerodom's Communications Department, the startup of operations of several airlines will bring about an increase in the flow of passengers through the Las Americas terminal. The expected increase has been calculated to be 1.9% over December 2010. The increase is based on the start of operations by Pullmantur Air with a weekly flight from Madrid and the beginning of the weekly flights by Air Transat from Toronto and Montreal.
