Despite expressions optimism and statements from some quarters for seeking a solution to the conflicts at the Central Electoral Board (JCE) Computer Center, there are fears that a stalemate could arise during today's meeting scheduled between the representatives of the PRD and PLD parties, because some of the actors are refusing to shift from their position. PRD political delegate Salvador Ramos told Diario Libre that his party would maintain its stance of asking for the removal of Computer director, Franklin Frias.

"We still have the same proposal, that Franklin Frias should be moved out of the Computer area. This is a proposal that we will not change, either. If they said that they would maintain their proposal, we will also maintain ours. Either there is a solution or there is a stalemate," he said. Nevertheless, he added that "like all problems there is a way out," everything has a solution and democracy will continue. Looking towards this afternoon's meeting, PRD general secretary Orlando Jorge Mera said that they have held consultations within the party on the proposals that were put on the table last week. Nevertheless, he said that it would not be prudent to discuss the position that the PRD will present at the third meeting, set for 4pm today.
