The Aguilas Cibaenas survived a surge from the Leones del Escogido and eked out a 7-6 victory in 12 innings in front of dozens of fans who stayed around until the end of the game at the Estadio Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros. Elian Herrera scored on a wild pitch when Jorge de Leon came in to throw for the Leones in the twelfth inning with two outs and two men on base. He threw a pitch that catcher Wilin Castillo had no chance to capture and Herrera scored the game winner. The Leones came from behind in the eighth with clutch hits by Josh Donaldson and Pablo Ozuna and went up a run. But the Aguilas came back with a triple by Hector Luna and RBI singles by Francisco Pena and Carlos Gomez to tie the game in the ninth inning.

It was easier for the Toros del Este to defeat the Gigantes del Cibao, 13-4, in a game played in San Francisco de Macoris. The 12-hit attack by the Toros put the game on ice in the six-run first inning. In San Pedro de Macoris, the pesky Estrellas Orientales took a 6-5 victory from the Tigres del Licey to keep alive their hope for making the playoffs. The Estrellas waited until there were two outs in the ninth inning to get four consecutive hits against pitcher Victor Marte. Felix Pie tied the game with a single and Jake Fox drove in the winning run, leaving the Blues all alone on the field.

The standings for the tournament are: <b>Team <b>Win-Loss <b>Average <b>Games behind TOROS 21 - 14 .600 AGUILAS 21 - 14 .600 TIGRES 19 - 16 .588 ESTRELLAS 15 - 20 .429 GIGANTES 15 - 20 .428 LEONES 14 - 21 .412 </p>
