Insulza will send observers in May

The secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS), Jose Miguel Insulza, has accepted an invitation from Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario to designate a group of Observers for the presidential election to be held on 20 May 2012. Insulza sent a note to Rosario thanking him for the invitation and informing the JCE president that he favored the organization of a mission to observe the elections. Insulza also informed Rosario that according to the current regulations, the OAS was obliged to find external funding for sending a team of observers to any election process in the Americas. According to El Nuevo Diario, the secretary general of the OAS said it was an honor to receive the invitation and to confirm the deployment of a team of observers.
