The Coalition for an Independent Justice System is asking for the evaluation carried out by the National Council of Magistrates (CNM) on the candidates for seats on the Supreme Court of Justice to be carried out publically and in accord with the criteria established by the CNM. According to Hoy, the Coalition is formed by the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), the Justice and Institutionalism Foundation (Finjus), Citizen Participation (PC) and the American Chamber of Commerce. The Coalition also backed the position taken by the National Business Council (CONEP) recommending a pre-selection process for the candidates of each of the high courts and a second round of selection initiated with the shortlists. This would be done in conjunction with a timeframe during which citizens could express their comments and objections and the evaluations could be more complete. The Coalition also said that the selection of the Superior Electoral Tribunal should be done first because many of the functions, such as the contentious aspects, are not working and there are issues that need to be settled. They said that there was no such urgency with regard to the Constitutional Tribunal or the Supreme Court.
