El Caribe reports that a power cut brought the Santo Domingo Metro to a halt for 12 minutes yesterday. Transport Reorganization Office (Opret) deputy director Leonel Carrasco told reporters that the fault occurred at 6:37pm when a backup generator failed to kick in immediately. Carrasco said that these types of incident were normal on any train in the world.
