Ortega y Gasset tunnel almost finished

The Ministry of Public Works and the Duarte Corridor Consortium announced this weekend that the tunnel that will run from the 27 de Febrero Avenue to the Jose Contreras Avenue next to the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) is almost finished. They are currently paving the 1.2-kilometer roadway, and installing the lighting, smoke sensors and video cameras that will monitor traffic. More than 90% of the labor force in this job was Dominican, according to the Ministry.
