President Fernandez in Santiago all day

President Leonel Fernandez will spend the day in Santiago de los Caballeros today, attending five events. He will meet with barrio leaders and law enforcement officials to discuss the progress of the Safe Barrio program in the city, an important part of this "town meeting" in Cienfuegos few months ago. The Chief Executive will also have lunch with business leaders and other leading figures but the press will not have access. He will also attend a graduation ceremony at the Great Cibao Theater near the Santiago Monument, where women enrolled in the Democratic Security Program will receive their diplomas from Jose Ramon Fadul, the Minister of Interior and Police and the President. Later on, Fernandez will tour the areas where the National Asphalting Program has repaved streets in several barrios and finally, in the evening, at the University Theater, he will attend the launch of a new edition of his book, "The Crime of Public Opinion: Censorship, Ideology and Freedom of Expression" which was originally published 31 years ago.
