Lorenzo Barcelo will pitch for the Dominican All Stars as they open the All Star Game between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela this evening. The game will take place at the University Stadium in Caracas. The Dominican team arrived on a charter flight from Santo Domingo yesterday afternoon. The game will be transmitted by channel Antena 21, starting at 8:30 tonight. The game is jointly organized by the Dominican Professional Baseball Federation and the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. There are 26 players on each team. The Dominican team is made up of catchers Brayan Pena (Escogido), Francisco Pena (Aguilas) y Robinzon Diaz (Gigantes), and infielders Edward Rogers (Estrellas), Luis Jimenez (Estrellas), Eric Almonte (Gigantes), Alexi Casilla (Gigantes), Jimmy Paredes (Gigantes), Yordany Valdespin (Licey), Audy Cirico (Aguilas) y Elian Herrera (Aguilas). In addition, Pedro Zapata (Licey), Moises Sierra (Gigantes), Juan Carlos Perez (Aguilas) y Carlos Peguero (Gigantes), outfielders and pitchers Winston Abreu (Toros), Jose Rafael Diaz (Toros), Osiris Matos (Toros), Lorenzo Barcelo (Aguilas), Cesar Cabral (Aguilas), Luis Perdomo (Aguilas), Angel Castro (Aguilas), Edward Valdez (Escogido), Jose Cabrera (Escogido), Jerry Gil (Estrellas) and Manauris Baez (Estrellas). The manager is Felix Fermin (Aguilas) and he will be assisted by coaches Ricardo Aponte (Gigantes), Guadalupe Jabalera (Estrellas), Alberto Castillo (Licey), Melquiades Rojas (Escogido), Carlos Febles (Toros) y Jose Mejia (Aguilas)

This is the second time that Venezuela and the Dominican Republic face off in an All Star game. In the first game, also played in the University Stadium in Caracas, the South Americans came away with a 4-3 victory over the Dominican team.
