Gold's Gym, which competes with Body Shop in the local gym market, has opened a modern branch on Km 8 of Av. Independencia. Ian Rondon and Martin Gabirondo, chief executives of the corporation made the announcement, as reported in Diario Libre. The new fitness center is built on an area of 1,000 square meters and seeks to appeal to residents of western Santo Domingo. Northern Santo Domingo is an area that has been better served by the mega gyms. The executives said that pre-opening membership drives had attracted more than 1,000 first time members.
