The Ministry of Higher Education (Mescyt) and the US Embassy have signed an agreement for sending 10 students on scholarship to the United States under the Fulbright scholarship program, as reported in El Caribe. The funds can be used for doctoral and masters programs. During the signing of the agreement by Ambassador Raul Yzaguirre and Minister Ligia Amada Melo, it was reported that so far 40 Dominican students have benefitted from the program, studying at Harvard, University of Illinois, Georgia Institute of Technology, Columbia, Virginia Institute of Technology, Texas A& M and Cornell, along with other universities.
