On Wednesday, the National Judicial Council announced their choice for the 17 justices for the Supreme Court of Justice for a seven-year term. Mariano German was chosen president of the Supreme Court of Justice. Other judges are Julio Cesar Castanos Guzman, Miriam German Brito, Esther Agelan Casasnova, Martha Olga Garcia, Jose Alberto Cruceta, Manuel Ramon Herrera Carbuccia, Francisco Jerez, Juan Hiroito Reyes, Alejandro Moscoso Segarra, Frank Soto, Sara Henriquez Marin, Roberto Placencia, Victor Jose Castellanos, Edgar Hernandez and Dulce Rodriguez de Goris.
The National Judicial Council confirmed four Supreme Court Justices who accepted to continue in the role - Victor Jose Castellanos, Edgar Hernandez and Dulce Rodriguez. A fourth judge, Jorge Subero Isa, the long-serving president of the Supreme Court of Justice declined the appointment. Subero Isa had presided the Supreme Court of Justice for 14 years. Subero Isa, a member of the National Judicial Council, resigned upon hearing the decision.
