What is a carwash you ask?
Well it's not what you think it is...Sure you can get your car washed there but in reality it is an outdoor club that hires chicas to work there and entertain guys.

Can I take out chicas?
Some carwashes are whorehouses in disguise. They charge a salida like any other whorehouse would. Normally a chica cannot leave early from a carwash that does not charge a salida.

Are there rooms on site?
Yes a few do, but most of them do not.

Are all carwashes the same?
NO!
The Sosua carwash is primarily a carwash. Chicas will show up from time to time but I doubt any are on the payroll.
In Santiago & Puerto Plata the carwashes are outdoor clubs with hired chicas. They can be very large with seating for 200-300 people!

What type of chica works at a carwash?
Well first of all they are very social! They have to be, since they only make RD$500/week (Kelvins). They rest of their income is tips. They can't possibly fuck every guy that they sit/dance with during the day so they have to make it up other ways. It's like hanging out with an old girlfriend, just comfortable, very low pressure.

Why do chicas work at a carwash?
90% of the chicas in the carwash are there because:
1. They don't want to be identified as a known whore from a "night club".
2. It is a "respectable" job compared to the alternatives.
3. They are too self conscious, shy or thick to work in a "night club"

What can I expect chica related going to a carwash?
Think of a carwash as a girlfriend club rather then a night club.
1. The girls won't be bugging you to take them to your hotel every 5 minutes!
2. They will be more of a g/f type.
3. The most expensive drink they will ask for is a Miller!
4. If they are hungry they will happily eat from the chicken stand next door for RD$100.

What else can I expect going to a carwash?
It is VERY LOUD in a carwash! Very few will play reggaeton, mostly merengue and bachata. Most if not all have a dance floor and sometimes even a stage for concerts. It is just a casual outdoor club with very loud music and chicas being nice to guys.

Who goes to carwashes?
Mostly 35-55 year old low/middle class Dominicans.

When is prime time?
Well the most people is always after work (6ish). But they best female to male ratios are either early 12-4 or late 10-12. Except weekend nights, then 10-12 is mostly young guys warming up on carwash chicas and cheap alcohol before going to the clubs later.

Can I go to a Carwash without a Car?
Of course you can, I have seen lots of people get dropped off by a taxi.

faq's like this are really valuable to experienced and newbie alike.

i hope others will start them for there areas of expertise like hotels, bars, the campo, etc... perhaps lists would be better for the above but whatever.

i find it helpful to have things put together by topic for reference as well as having the search function. i imagine newer members would benefit from having a more organized layout initially.

I like old reggae (I have Bob Marley Legend on right now) and I like Bachata and merenge. Reggaeton is one of the 3 types of music I can't stand.(that I have listened to) Country and Rap are the other two.
I like most all else from Bagpipe music to Japan Kodo drum music. Non opra claisical and most metal.

Reggaeton has been exploding for several years now. It began to grow in the 90's, and has spread throughout the U.S. like wildflowers. According to Daddy Yankee, Reggaeton is "suppose" to be different from Spanish Reggae which comes out of Panama. Reggaeton is a mixture of Hip Hop, Reggae, Salsa, and other tropical sounds. The origins of the sound comes from the Puerto Rican Barrios.

Now back on topic, good looking on the list, and what to look for at the Carwashes. I remember in September passing the one in Sosua. That place was packed to the brim with people.

They have shows there at times.

That's where we saw Frank Reyes in March. Other than that night, that particular Sosua car wash has usually been dead when I passed it. A couple of nights last August, the Texaco gas station (not a car wash) had at least twenty hot chicas hanging around.
