Celso Marranzini told reporters from El Caribe that he never said that everyone would have electricity for the holidays. He said that he referred only to the A and B circuits, which he said would have electricity all night on 24-25 December and on 31 December-1 January. He said that there would be fewer blackouts on the C and D circuits. Marranzini also announced that by the end of 2012 and in the first quarter of 2013, the CDEEE would have another 1070 megawatts of electricity production available. In an interview with Huchi Lora on CDN, he said that the new energy would come from repairs that are being made and several generating plants that will join those already under two-year contracts. Marranzini said that it was a process and he added that in 28 months it was not possible to resolve issues that took 40 years to create.

During the interview Marranzini spelled out the different sources of the energy, hydroelectric, solar and conventional generation with less expensive fuels. He also noted that his administration has more than doubled the number of clients of the Edes, and more than a million customers now have 24-hour service.
