The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting scattered showers for many parts of the country today. Onamet says that temperatures will continue to be comfortable and in the mountain valleys might even go down to as low as 10 degrees Celsius. The skies will be partly cloudy and a change in the dominant breezes might bring a slight increase in temperatures. "The rains are expected in the early hours of the day and in the evenings along the Caribbean coastline and in the Cibao Valley," according to a bulletin from Onamet. On the other hand, warmer days are forecast for the New Year holiday, with noontime averages of 30C and early morning temperatures of 20C.
