Wow, I just noticed that there has not been a trip report on Cabarete since 2004. All my trips have been Sosua based so far. The 9th of Feb will be my first trip that will be Cabarete base. I plan on unlocking the secrets of this beautiful paradise. I have seen a few beauties in the shops and I know some of them are in the game. I purchased a Condo there, so all of my trips will be Cabarete based from now on. I simply can not do Sosua anymore. The place is a dump. The beach sucks and so do most of the chica friendly hotels. I never understood how guys on some boards would recommend shitty hotels to the general public without letting them know the real truth about these places. I am middle class guy, with the emphasis on class. I'm a well rounded kind of guy who likes to stay at hilton or marriott when I'm on the road in the states. So, when I'm on vacation I do not see the point of staying at the Bronx Homeless Shelter for Men just because it is chica friendly. When I'm not chasing chicas, I never have anything to do because I don't like Playa Sosua. But I love Playa Cabarete because it's a great beach.

Of course I will still spend pleanty of time in Sosua doing all of the things that Sosua is good for: Going to Classico, La Passions and Sosua Life Bar when the time is right. I know enough chicas that I will have plenty when I need them. At night I can gather more phone numbers so that I can always have a choice of chicas during the daytime without spending too much time in the Sosewer. So until then I'm going to sip on this bottle of bugal to get me ready for this trip.http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/images/posticons/smile.gif

I and my wingman will be staying at the Casa Cayena (chica friendly) because Lorenzo got me pissed with his bulshit way of doing business. We are planning to hang out one full day in Cabarete just to see the beach, and bars restaurants. I was also told how nice Cabarete is by JJ our van driver from the airport. Crossfire1, hopefully well enjoy a drink togeter at Clasiscos or somewhere, as I will be in Sosua from 2/8/ to 2/11.

Good game plan. Cabarete during the day and Sosua at night is pretty close to having it all.

I agree guttaman. This is my attempt to have it all. Great beach and a 12 minute straight line drive to all of the putas I can handle. I never did like having the putas at my door step. That's why I never stayed at Europa. I want to hunt the chicas and not have the chicas hunting me.

Jimbo - Just hit me with a PM when you get in town and we can have a drink. No problemo.

Kidfrost- I usually do 2 chicas a day (once I did 4) and I still find myself being bored after I kick out the chicas. This is my 8th or 9th trip. I need more to do than just looking at the same old chicas. Last Jan & Feb Sosua was still Jumping. By 3pm the Four Roses, Domino and Plaza Algerie bars were all hooping and there was something to do. Things have not been the same since then. I have heard many mongers complain that Sosua is boring in the day time unless you have phone numbers of chicas to set up something during the day time. I do plenty of mongering but after I kick my chicas out, I find that there is more personality left in me that needs to be fulfilled.

I agree Sosua isn't perfect by far, but I did manage to go to Cabarete a few times & the Beach comparison is a no Brainer, but I like the comrodery, I like hanging @ Lou's & Rockys & with fellow members @ other Bars during the day in Sosua. I know where your coming from though.

Crossfire1, I'm looking forward to your trip reports. I've only spent some short spurts in Cabarete. It would be interesting to hear about it from someone that's staying there.

I guess that's why I was getting phone numbers from different girls at the clubs...

I live in Cabarete mostly full-time and haven't done an actual trip report, because it's not really a "trip report" kinda place, except for the beach and the food. Ive tried to give info about the clubs and stuff to do in Cabarete...definitely a better daytime spot than nighttime spot. The beach and restaurants are excellent, and there are putas to be found if you know where and when to look, but if you're there for the girls, you're better off spending the evening in Sosua. If, however, you've got the game to hook up with young drunken hottie surfer chicks ( I dont) ...this is the place to be!! If anyone has specific questions about Cabarete, ask away, I'll be happy to answer as best I can.

First tip:
Onno's on the beach for Happy Hour 4-8pm. All Tapas and local drinks half price, and a great location to chill at the end of the day, also Jose Ohea's, while usually expensive, offers a 199 peso beer during happy hour...with free unlimited refills!

Second Tip:
If you like shrimp...go to Papi's "Casita" for, honestly, one of the best meals of your life...Order the Camarones a la Papi (ask for them peeled) it's not cheap at close to 700 pesos, but it is seriously worth it.

Third Tip:
Keep in mind, the Putas in Cabarete are used to dealing mostly with younger, drunken surfer dudes and husbands sneaking away while their wives are nursing their sunburns back at the hotel. The nicer looking chicas all want big money, and the rest are mostly street-rats...so be careful...

Fourth Tip:
Chica Spots...during the day...not many around...early evening...on the street, I mean ON the street, checking passing cars like street walkers...and sitting at Hexen Kessel, the German Pizza place smack in the center of town...also, a few doors west of HexenKessel, look up - there's an Italian place on the second floor where the chicas sit at the rail and look down on the street - the "tiki bar" across the street from there will sometimes have chicas at the bar. In the late evening it's Onno's and Bambu on the beach, right next to each other in the center of town. Most of the girls are "non putas" from Europe, Canada, USA, or other parts of the DR, but there are a handful of Putas cruising around. They are usually not as aggressive as the chicas in Sosua though so you have to look a little harder.

Fifth Tip:
The Ocean Sands Casino is open past curfew every night (and if you're gambling, the drinks are free!). They recently opened a club upstairs which gets pretty packed on the weekends. Definitely your best bet for finding a "non-street rat" puta in Cabarete, but you'll need to negotiate pretty well unless you're willing to pay 2000 pesos+ for TLN.

Yup, Ocean Sands is the place to go after the bars and clubs close. The disco there stays open til 5. There's a 200 peso charge to get in (for Gringos, at least). Some girls from Classico etc. go there after it closes.

I like this place alot during my last trip I was there alot playing Black Jack and just drinking, and than going to Club that stays open all night instead of that bullshit curfew they are having around other places in the country.
