Miss Universe 2003, Amelia Vega has denied that pregnancy was reason for her unexpected wedding to Atlanta Hawks basketball player Al Horford on Christmas Eve. Her public relations representative David Benitez Oquendo spoke to Primera Hora newspaper of Puerto Rico, as reported by Listin Diario. He said that Vega explained the rush was because both their agendas were complicated and tight, especially with the start of the NBA season. The surprise ceremony took place at the home of her uncle contemporary musician Juan Luis Guerra.
