The Center for Exports and Investment (CEI-RD) reports that Dominican exports from January to September are up 23.61% compared to the same period in 2010. Dominican exports increased from US$4,835.56 million to US$5,977.22 million. Non-traditional exports were up 13.90% to US$4,149.27 million, compared to US$3,642.93 in 2010. Industrial products showed an increase of 12.95%, with US$3,229.78 million in exports. The leading industrial export was apparatus for blood transfusion with US$294.47 million in exports.

Agro-industrial product exports totaled US$579.52 million, up 9.19%. Interestingly the country exported US$40.89 million in copper, without producing copper.

In traditional exports, sugar and sugar by products declined 7.68% for exports of US$153.13 million. Tobacco exports were up 25.76%, and coffee exports were up 17.13%.
