The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and the chairman of the Judicial Branch Council (CJP), Mariano German Mejia, headed yesterday's session that dealt with a 39-point agenda that included 21 requests for promotions by judges and four requests for transfers. In point 14 of the agenda, 21 judges asked for their promotion both to Courts of Appeal as well as to Courts of First Instance.
The Diario Libre says that the magistrates who requested promotions are Margarita Cristo, Juan de la Cruz Paulino, Sarah Altagracia Veras Almanzar, Awilda Ines Reyes Beltre, Miguel Angel Suriel Rojas, Yissell Soto Pena, Felix Servio Silvestre Ramirez, Juan Tomas Mercedes Payano, Reynaldo Antonio Soriano Cisneros, Victor Mejia Lebron, Carmen Mancebo, Nora Yadhira Cruz Gonzalez, Fanny Lopez Pimentel and Ana Delis Perez Urbaez. Also, Martin Alcantara Moreno, Jorge U. Reyes Jaquez, Ingrid Soraya Fernandez Mendez, Ana Maria Perez, Jose Anibal Madera Francisco, Fernando Fernandez Cruz and Jose Martin de la Mota Contin. The judges who requested transfers are Evelyn Rodriguez, Jazmin Varela Astacio, Cesar M. Sanchez de los Santos and Diana Moreno Rodriguez.
