The Leones del Escogido continue to be on a roll, winning their first five matches in the all-against-all Round Robin. Yesterday they defeated the Licey in Santo Domingo 2-1 in a game that went to extra innings. The Leones del Escogido have won 17 of their most recent 18 games, including 10 consecutive victories, with the 5 in the round robin. The game was a pitching duel, with left hand pitcher Jordan Norberto of the Escogido matching left hander Jake Stevens of the Tigres. The game was decided in the tenth inning.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco de Macoris, Kevin Pucetas led the Gigantes del Cibao to an easy 7-2 victory over the Aguilas Cibaenas. The Gigantes announced the hiring of catcher Miguel Perez and left hand pitcher Eric Berger (Cleveland Indians minor leagues) from the Venezuelan league, to strengthen the team's possibility of making the playoffs.

Tonight the Tigres del Licey will play the Leones del Escogido at the Quisqueya Ball Park in Santo Domingo. The game will start at 7:35pm, and the Gigantes will match the Aguilas at the Cibao Ball Park in Santiago at 7:35pm.
