The judge for Permanent Attention of the Court of Instruction in Hato Mayor, Victor Fragoso, has ordered three months of preventive custody for Miguel Arquimedes Zorilla (a.k.a. Eddy Pica Pollo), the deputy director of the National Institute for Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) on charges of domestic violence. According to El Nuevo Diario, the magistrate took the decision after hearing a petition from prosecutor Adrynes Bruno, who said that preventive custody would protect the physical integrity of Zorilla's wife, Alexandra Navarro. The government official will be sent to the Correctional and Rehabilitation Center in San Pedro de Macoris.
