Nicaraguan bank to open in Santo Domingo

While attending the inauguration of re-elected President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua in Managua, Vice President Rafael Alburquerque announced that the Latin American Financial Services (LAFISE) would install a bank branch in Santo Domingo. He said the Banco LAFISE is the leading financial group in Central America with branches in Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, as well as Nicaragua. Alburquerque said the new investment has come as a result of the country's excellent business and investment climate and strategic location. Alburquerque highlighted the major investments already made by Central American business groups in the Dominican Republic, as reported in El Nacional.
