On the verge of being eliminated, a change of manager has coincided with consecutive victories for Santo Domingo city team Licey, and the Tigres continued yesterday to win. Playing in Santo Domingo, the Tigres del Licey defeated the Leones del Escogido 14-1 and are now firm contenders to make the playoffs a city championship. This is the Licey's fourth consecutive victory.

The Tigres are now 6-6, only two games behind the Escogido that is 8-4, to be first in the standing. As reported in Diario Libre, for the Escogido this is their first loss at their home club, the Quisqueya Ball Park. They had not lost a game there since 30 November.

Games Wednesday, 11 January:
In Santo Domingo's Estadio Quisqueya at 7:35pm, the Aguilas Cibaenas will visit the Leones del Escogido. In the Julian Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macoris at 7:35pm, the Tigres del Licey will visit the Gigantes del Cibao.
