Duarte Highway lighting

Safety for drivers on the Duarte Highway at night has been greatly improved by the new lighting. EdeSur, the state-owned power distribution company with jurisdiction for Santo Domingo, has announced that lighting is being installed on an 18-km stretch from Km. 9 at the intersection of Luperon and John F. Kennedy avenues to Km. 28 in the municipality of Pedro Brand. EdeSur says 830 lights are being installed on poles with a budget of RD$6 million, as reported in El Dia.
