The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has declared a green alert for the Atlantic coast from Cabo Engano to Manzanillo including the Bay of Samana, due to a frontal system moving in from the northeast.
Waves are expected to reach 8n10 feet, with winds up to 20 knots. Small craft are advised to stay in port and swimmers should take additional care whilst these conditions continue.
The civil protection agencies in low-lying coastal areas should be on alert to take action if necessary.
