The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported today that the temperature dropped to 5 degrees Celsius in the mountain regions of the Dominican Republic. The latest bulletin also said that the rains would begin to diminish today with the arrival of a high-pressure ridge from the Atlantic. These good conditions will last through the rest of the working week and into the weekend. However, the concentration of humidity carried by breezes from the east-northeast will bring light rains to the eastern part of the Cibao Valley, the Samana Peninsula and some parts of the Caribbean coastline.
