Minister of Labor Francisco Dominguez Brito has confirmed that Thursday 26 January is not a holiday, and that Duarte Day will be celebrated on Monday 30 January. He explained that the legislation that aims to set 26 January as a fixed holiday date was still in the Congress, and therefore, Juan Pablo Duarte's birthday celebrations would be held on 30 January, as reported in El Nuevo Diario.
He also noted that the nation's Independence Day, 27 February, would be celebrated on Monday, the 27 February.
