Speaking at a press conference yesterday, the president of the Dominican Social Revolutionary Party (PRSD) Hatuey De Camps Jimenez, said that his political organization had no particular favorite and that he was open to an alliance with the PLD and Danilo Medina, although no decision had yet been made.
He stated that the decision would be made at the 5th PRSD Congress on 29 February, defending an alliance where the presidential candidates put their aspirations aside in order to opt for a consensus representation.
"We have said that we are going to participate in the electoral process come rain or shine," he said.
He then changed the subject saying that life in this country was very expensive and that the government often talks about the Gross Domestic Product whilst hiding the poverty gap.
"Governments, without exception, have tended to massage the numbers," he confirmed, and went on to say that although the government has tried to keep macroeconomic control by injecting dollars by the Central Bank, which was a good decision, he criticized the lack of a government spending austerity policy.
