The low-pressure wave has passed through and temperatures will continue to be most enjoyable for the next 48 hours. Last night's report from the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) said that the low-pressure trough has passed by and the island is now under the influence of the east-northeast winds. They said that there "will be light rains over some cities in the north, northeast, southeast and in the central mountains. They also said that with the exception of Samana Bay, wave activity around the island was higher than usual and small craft should take precautions and stay close to the shoreline.
Onamet forecasts temperatures of low of 20C/high of 29C for Santo Domingo, 16/29 for Santiago, 19/29 for La Romana, 19/30 for Punta Cana and 19/30 for Barahona, and 18/28 for Puerto Plata.
