Yesterday, in Santo Domingo, Judge Yovianka Estefany Brito freed Yanelis Lopez who was accused of killing her husband in Los Viages in Los Guaricanos. However, Lopez was ordered to appear before the Public Prosecutor for the next six months until the investigation is completed. The judge also instructed the accused not to go near the family of the murder victim, Johan Ramos.
Lopez was arrested Monday morning, accused of stabbing Ramos to death. She said that the crime had been committed in self-defense after he came home drunk and started hitting her, and picked up a knife to assault her.
