The Dominican ambassador in the United Kingdom, Federico Cuello, says that the United Kingdom considers the Dominican Republic to be a priority in the Caribbean region, second only to Mexico.

In his opinion, the Dominican Republic is an important destination for British exports, but this should be replicated with imports and with this in mind, the Dominican embassy in Britain is organizing Dominican Day during the second week of April.

He said that all exporters with potential, not just quality but also seasonal, could participate. He pointed out that in the months when the Dominican Republic had avocados, no other country was producing them.

He said that during this meeting in London, they wanted to link Dominican producers to British importers and that his mission was to bring more Dominican imports to the UK.
