Although rescue work has continued, there is little hope of finding any survivors, according to the local authorities. Three more bodies were recovered from the waters of Samana Bay, but only one, Maria Altagracia Almanzar, 30, could be identified. So far the bodies of 10 women and 12 men have been recovered and at least 29 are still missing, according to Navy spokesman Vice-Admiral Luis Castro, who is heading the recovery efforts. In the meantime dozens of people have congregated at the Acapulco beach to the east of Sabana de la Mar in the hope of receiving some news. Listin Diario reports that rescue efforts were also hampered by a lack of fuel for the boats, and that even the gasoline station was having problems pumping fuel.
