With the dissenting vote of Eddy Olivares who said that the continued presence of Franklin Frias sullied the Computer Center with doubt and a lack of confidence, the Plenary of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) approved the pact between the PRD and PLD. The parties proposed the creation of a collegiate management team for the Computer Center of the electoral tribunal and include three new members.
The proposal was signed on Monday February 6 by the President of the Republic, Leonel Fernandez and the president of the PRD, Miguel Vargas Maldonado, with the aim of ending the crisis that was caused by the resignation of the administrator general of the Computer Center, Miguel Angel Garcia. This left the computer center under the leadership of Franklin Frias who was rejected by the PRD and other parties. The bi-partisan agreement suggests replacing the current leadership of the Computer Center with a collective management team by adding three more members as well as the director. It was reported that the names of Jose Agustin Lopez, Kelyn F. Pena (proposed by Hipolito Mejia and the PRD) and Fabricio Valentino Gomez Pina (suggested by the PLD) would be sent to the other parties for their opinions. The other parties will have until Friday at 2pm to submit their observations.
