Yesterday, Tuesday February 14, President Leonel Fernandez inaugurated the new road linking Jarabacoa and Constanza, which cost US$100 million to build and is 27 kilometers long. Fernandez said that these two communities were the most beautiful in the country, only surpassed by the beauty of their women and that that he had the idea for this road 25 years ago when he visited Jarabacoa, and he was able to turn it into reality after becoming head of state.
Minister of Public Works Victor Diaz Rua said that the President had personally supervised the road on several occasions during the construction process.
As reported in Listin Diario, Jarabacoa Mayor Piedad Quezada de Dominguez, Presidency Minister Cesar Pina Toribio, Deputies Ramon Rogelio Genao and Alexandra Izquierdo, Senators Euclides Sanchez and Adriano Sanchez Roa, the Minister for Women, Alejandrina German, National Housing Institute (INVI) director Alma Fernandez and Brazilian ambassador Joao Sabino were also present at the ceremony.
