Today, Wednesday February 15 is the official opening date for the election campaign to vote for the President of the Republic on May 20.
There are several milestones throughout the process, which will be controlled by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) as established by Electoral Law 275-97. They include the date by which alliances should be notified, information on income and expenditure, and the official publication of the list of candidates, as reported in Listin Diario.
Other administrative tasks of the JCE include handing over funding to the political parties, printing the ballot papers and issuing the results.
