29.00-29.20 is what has been reported on DR1 lately. And those are DR rates (cambios/street)!

the exchange rate has been steady at that number for awhile. I don't see it raising any higher than where it's at now.

XE says right now 28.9550.
What’s the most recent rate you’ve been getting in the DR?
I still have 2,570 pesos left from when I was there last year, then it was 37 pesos to the US$ as far as I remember, had I known this shit I’d have brought back more pesos.
Anyway, these pesos that I have left will still get me a good piece of ass in SD… :D
I was there 2 weeks ago and was getting anywhere from 28.5 to 28.95.

Dude! Super Super was paying 29.00 all week! (and we were there at the same time)
Hell I was in Santiago and still knew Super Super's rate!
When I was in Santiago last week they were paying 29 at Hotel Gran Almirante and the rate was a steady 28.9 at Western Union in Moca from Friday thru Monday.

The trick in Santiago is to go to Matum and change in a few hundred, if gambling they will give you 30-1. They play conservatively and then cash in later. Can't do it often and risk losing some money.

Best to change it to dollars before you come. Atleast that is my 2 cents.

JDAlways good rates there, but you have to stay there. At least I always had to show them my room key.

? Why dollars? Yes, you can use dollars definitley more there than euros, but if you're not renting a car or something, are there places you can't just pay in pesos?

Just shops inside the airports, they all want dollars.
