Yesterday Thursday February 16 the Ministry of Public Health closed Perfect You, a cosmetic surgery clinic in Gazcue, for operational irregularities and not complying with the quality standards laid down by the General Health Law 42-01.
The clinic is in the Gazcue Medical Centre on Santo Domingo's Bolivar Ave. According to the Public Health authorities the center was not suitable for providing health services as its owner Iro Rosario Whitaker did not have the academic qualifications, and was not complying with the law, which constituted a public health risk.
The authorities said that all health service providers must comply with the established regulations or be fined or closed temporarily or permanently. They said that they would continue to look for and assess health establishments operating illegally throughout the country.
