Yesterday, Thursday February 16, Barahona Public Prosecutor Dr Esteban Sanchez Diaz made a statement following an incident that involved singer Miriam Cruz, in which her bodyguard was shot.
He stated that although the police had exceeded their duties, the occupants of the vehicle should have stopped at the Cabral crossing when asked to by the police, so they also shared some of the blame.
He said that everyone knew the Cabral crossing, but the police should not have started shooting, and when the vehicle didn't stop they could have called the Vicente Noble crossing, and they could have blocked the road, as reported in El Dia.
