On Monday February 20 President Leonel Fernandez issued Decree 55-12 appointing Perfecto Acosta Suriel as the coordinator of the Commission for Support to the Reform and Modernization of the Justice System. Acosta Suriel will replace jurist Lino Vasquez Samuel who was selected as a magistrate on the Constitutional Tribunal. The decree also appointed Jose Alfredo Rizek Vidal as a member of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Oil Refinery (Refidomsa) in substitution of Mariano German Mejia who is now the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
