Former Supreme Court (SCJ) judge Julio Anibal Suarez has issued a challenge before the Constitutional Tribunal against the National Council of Magistrates resolution that removed from the high court. Suarez claims that the resolution that removed him contains four major infractions - the lack of a motivation, violation of the right to be heard, stability in public office, and the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary. Suarez said that the Act 24 of 21 December 2011 is vague, empty and that there seems to be a total absence of reasons for his dismissal, which is obligatory according to the Dominican Constitution and the Inter-American System of Human Rights. He added that his rights to be heard were also violated and that during the evaluation he was never informed of any such charges or of the evidence of these charges, therefore preventing him of the chance to challenge "such a despicable accusation."
