Woman chains self to Justice Palace

Yesterday, amidst all the other political turmoil, a woman chained herself to the Palace of Justice in Santiago as part of her efforts to get the authorities to respond to her complaint of alleged medical malpractice against her daughter. Eridania Ledesma told El Nuevo Diario reporters that she was desperate to ensure that the persons responsible for her daughter's vegetative state should face the consequences of their negligence. According to her statements, her daughter was taken to the Arturo Grullon Children's Hospital with tonsillitis and she said that the operation resulted in her daughter being paralyzed. She finally returned to her home after speaking to the District Attorney for Santiago, Luisa Liranzo.
