its my first time in santo domingo, staying at the jaragua.

I've been reading the reviews, lots of good info .

I wanted to know where to go to find chicas nearby the hotel.

a guy gave me a card for the lapsus night club. might check it out tonight.

any recommendations or last minute advice?

As far as I can tell, 1500-2000 pesos is the normal rate?

also, where is the girls house? and how far in relation to the jaragua.

I copied the following from another web site:

It is 5 minutes from Lapsus if you know where that is - I have never been to any of these places but you have limited time and no Spanish skills - good luck!.

On the map, Point of Interest 69 is the Melia. This is about where the Jaragua is. Girl House is on Pasteur between Avenida Independencia and Avenida George Washington. Just in case you didn't know, Lapsus is on Avenida Independencia. Go out the back entrance to Jaragua, make a left. While you are back there, check out Tabu also, might be interesting. :D

Go out the back entrance of the Jaragua and if you head left you will have:

Aurora - sleazy and low end but ya never know when a hidden gem will turn up any where

tabu- also sleazy and low end, better than aurora but the quality is hit or miss, mostly miss as of late

lapsus - can also be hit or miss and more hit than tabu but that aint saying much

if you make a right instead of left from the rear entrance of jaragua, and walk till you hit the first traffic light, you will be at the intersection of pasteur. Make a right and you will have:

girl house - probably hottest place in town these days. some nights they can have 50 or more girls

sky high or whatever they call the old elegante now, some hot chicks but expensive and they seem very disintrested

if instead of making the right on pasteur you continue walking on independencia, you will see a colmado on the left hand side of the street, and usually a girl named vanessa hangs out there, if you speak spanish she can hook you up with her amigas. She used to work at 52 way back when. There are also a bunch of SW around here, but avoid that.

one block past the colmado is calle danae, make a left and almost at the end on the right hand side is hotel ripar bella, which used to be mona lisa. They are open from about 3 pm till 9 or so. Not sure of the quality as I have not been there in months.

if you walk past danae on independencia and make a right on the next corner, walk down half a block and there is hotel senorial. They have decent food at good prices and usually some "free lancers" hanging around.

those are all within walking distance from the jaragua. near the senorial is hotel napolitano and there is kirseys bar right next door. last few times I went nothing wothwhile except one cute 18 year old chica, but she wasn't there on my last stop.

all other places you are best with a taxi. Don't take taxis from outside the jaragua as they will charge you triple and try and take you to places where they get a cut. if you can get by with a bit of spanish www.taxidominicano.com or call fausto at 809 818 2000 and they can show you all the hotspots etc.

it was quite a shock. I didn't know which one to choose. some very pretty girls.

I ended up taking a girl named elisa , I think that's what she said her name was.

$2500 pesos and then the hotel fee. it was quite disappointing though.

she seemed to want get it over with quickly. I was under the impression that it was for two hours , but after the first pop , she was already putting on her clothes .

and to top it off she asked for more money. I said no .

might go there again tonight and try someone else. where can you bring the girl if you go there late , as I was told that everything closes at midnight.

is it better to go late and try to negotiate an after work meeting or will that be a problem.

got more time to pick a girl and the lighting is better , so you don't get a shock when you go up to the room.

took a cute chica named jenny. nice little bod. about 5'4 , maybe about a 34b cup.

3,000 pesos including room. the session wasn't bad , but once again was asked for more $ if I wanted a second rnd. I declined .

what's the deal with that , is it normally 1 sog or one hour with msog?

got ripped off for the cab ride. when we got back to the hotel , the driver wanted $50 US.

we were originally told 200 pesos for the drive. but since the guy waited he wanted more. when we got there we were going to pay him, but the guy (george or jorje - our guide) told him to wait. I understand wanting more but $50 US is a total shakedown.

my friend and I were going to get him to drive us to the airport on sat, but after being gouged by him , told him not to bother.

when we went to eat at the 24 hr restaurant behind the jaragua, there were quite a few freelancers hanging out. didn't partake though.

definitely gotta learn some spanish for the next trip. this being the first time here , we didn't really mind having george around , he spoke pretty good english so that was helpful.

Do not worry. I have made the same rookie mistakes four years ago when I first visited the DR. We all learn.

Casa Teressa is 3,000 for an hour and 6,000 for an all-nighter (from midnight until the morning).

For a short-time, you need to negotiate with the chica and manager. For example, how many pops, how many hours, etc. Confirm these before fucking your chica.

Fuck your cab driver. I hope you gave him only 200 pesos. Because he probably got a 1,000 peso cut from the casa for taking you there. So next time he wants more money from you, just tell him that he already got his cut from the casa. That will shut him up.

Try and go to a casa without a cab driver or tour guide. It will cost you much less.

If you and your friend do not mind driving, then I recommend that the two of you rent a car. It costs around $50 to $60 per day (including insurance).

P.S. The 24-hour restaurant you went to is called Manolo Cafeteria.

Across the street from this restaurant, you will see many dealers and bartenders waiting for the bus to go home. They work at the Jaragua Casino. A lot of them wait at the bus stop at around midnight.

If you speak Spanish you can pick up a lot of little gems at this bus stop at night... just walk towards the Jaragua back.. outside the entrance to the right, there are always easy girls there.. a lot of them coming off work from the hotel or (and those are the ones that you wanna get) from the casas at the back of the hotel..

If you feel especially adventurous you can pick uyp a girl at the busstop, then make an U-turn and walk about two blocks where there is a very, very dark park... enter and fuck at your own peril

My only other advice when dealing with any of the casas - go an hour before closing and ask to pay the standard ST price for all night...they will almost always agree...if they dont, go somewhere else... make suer the girl understands, you're buying her time, not a certain number of "pops"... if you want to fuck all night, you've paid for it...and dont pay her a peso "propina" or tip unless she was worth it and you want to....and never show up with a cab driver in tow... have hom drop you off a block away, its easy to get another cab when youre ready to leave...

In front of The Girl's House, there is a guy (I think he is in his early 20s) name "Chi Chi".

I parked in front of The Girl's House and Chi Chi opens the door for me. I told him that I am solo. And I told the owner that I came with neither a cab driver nor a tour guide. So Chi Chi was upset.

So if I go alone, my 2,500 is split between the chica and the house. Which means that I do not have to give the chica a nice tip.

One place I recommend all guys to go to (especially during the day) is a hang-out place called "El Conde".

Here are directions (on how to get there) and pictures of the area. A lot of freelancers hang out here as well.

El Conde has a lot of nice bars, restaurants, a sex shop, internet cafes, a supermarket, etc.

Plenty of freelancers on El Conde. No need to walk up and down if you don't want too. Just pick a spot and camp out. All the freelancers walk the entire strip so you won't miss a thing. Watch out for the pimps in the area. They are harmless but obviously drive the price up. If you know a little spanish, you won't need them. In most cases, the pimps don't even know the chicas. They just met them on the strip just like you. So be discreet, give the chicas some eye contact, polite greeting or body language. Tell her exactly what you want up front!

Price Guide: 1000 ST, 1500-2000 TLN.
