Lawyer Luis Miguel Pereyra, representing PLD vice presidential candidate Margarita Cedeno de Fernandez, said yesterday Tuesday February 21 that he was preparing the suit for defamation and injury against Santiago lawyer Marcos Martinez.
Listin Diario quotes him as saying that it was not a question of a simple complaint about what Martinez had done, but the strongest possible defamation, which justified the legal actions that would be initiated against him.
Pereyra said that banks would not reveal statements of accounts to anyone apart from the owner of the account due to confidentiality. He said that to claim that the First Lady had this amount of money in the middle of an election campaign was a very serious accusation.
Interviewed on the Hoy Mismo TV show, the lawyer said that a warrant from a judge is needed to get information about someone's bank account.
A representative of Danske Bank said on its Facebook page that the screenshots published online supposedly depicting its e-banking system were not from Danske Bank's system.
