President promotes natural gas

As part of the government's campaign to promote the use of natural gas, President Leonel Fernandez has handed over the keys of 200 taxis that will run on the alternative fuel. The program, which has a budget of some RD$90.5 million financed through the Banco de Reservas, was described as "an initiative by the Dominican government and local private sectors to provide drivers with vehicles that use the cheapest fuels and have a less harmful effect on the environment."
